Happy New Year everyone, I wish you all the best for the new year! 

I apologise for not writing a post in absolutely ages but thought as it's a new year, this is the chance for me to put my blog writing to practice (again), I'm not promising anything but I'm hoping to blog a lot more this year, as it stands I realise I have hardly made any posts but I'm hoping with the new year I will develop my blog. 

Anyway…2013 was a great year all in all, yes it did have it's up and downs but I think that's probably the same for everyone. I was lucky enough to go on several amazing holidays through out the year with the people close to me, visiting the Caribbean for the first time was a highlight for me, I don't think I've seen such amazing beach views before. Also the summer was pretty great too! Royal Ascot, Tenerife, V festival and Magalluf were some of the amazing parts of Summer 2013, possibly the best summer yet! Although 2013 had it's many highs there were a few lows, the main thing being my anxiety, it seemed to develop more over the past year causing more panic attacks which obviously wasn't a highlight of the year, but enough of that, I'll save that for another post. Despite that I still feel I've had an incredible year doing even more amazing things with my friends and family and lets hope 2014 is just as good, if not better! 

Well this was just a little post to reflect briefly on 2013, in no means was I trying to brag about holidays I've been on, I was just expressing the best parts of the year for me. Well I really do hope to whoever reads this has the most amazing 2014 and so on. 50 Facts About Me!

So it's May which means for a lot people my age it's exam time so like many others I've been stressing over revision. Therefore I thought I'd take a break from revising and do another blog post today to tell the world a little more about me, I thought I'd do this by doing a '50 Facts About Me' post, so here's some weird, random facts about me, enjoy :-)

1.When I was younger I used to pronounce the Disney films Pinocchio as 'pokey-nokey-o' and Pocahontas as 'po-ka-ka-hun-tee-as' I was clearly rubbish at reading and pronouncing my words as a child :-P

2. I'm very much a savoury food person, this is going to sound crazy but I'm not overly fussed about chocolate:-O

3.I used to play steel band in primary school and even got an award for music on my last day of primary school in year 6 (5th grade), but I am no means talented at music :-P

4.If I see a spider I will most likely cry or just freeze in a panic

5.Turquoise is my favourite colour

6.I am a bit too obsessed with E! channel

7.Lemons, ginger and marzipan are the most disgusting foods in my opinion

8.My Initials are ESS; Emma Samantha Slater

9.I love hello kitty, so much so, my childhood best friend who loves tattoos got a hello kitty tattoo with the initial E on it, just for me!

10.The thought of dying scares me so much!

35.I am really rubbish at foreign languages, all I can do is speak minimal French and can count to 10 in Welsh, yeah not that useful really

44.I don't like really spicy food, I really am a whimp that can't handle a little bit of spice in my food!

46.I think Johnny Depp is pretty yummy for a guy who's nearly fifty!

47.There's nothing on a cold night that I love more than having a nice relaxing bubble bath with candles whilst watching tv on my iPad then putting on cosy pyjamas and getting into clean bed sheets, that just sounds perfect to me :-)

48.I always sing in the shower (even if my friends are in the other room)

49.My favourite thing to do in the world is just have a good old laugh with friends and family, sounds so cheesy but I really do love being with good company having a good time! :-)

50.Although I do tend to make a mess, I'm a very clean, house proud person, I hate it if the house is a mess and I can't just tidy my own room, I like to tidy the whole house in order to feel fully satisfied.

Lilac Love

Just a quick post to show off this gorgeous colour! I've had it for a while but never tried it out and i LOVE it! It's part of the O.P.I Shrek Collection and it's called 'Rumple's Wiggin' ' and yes it came out a a while back but who cares :-P it's a great spring colour (yes I'm a sucker for wearing pastel colours in spring/summer) and this is probably my favourite out of the Shrek Collection so I decided to purchase the big bottle after purchasing the mini set of the rest of the collection. I love that it's a block colour so you don't have to put on a lot of coats like a lot of other light coloured nail polish and it's just so summery it makes me smile :-) As the collection was a limited addition I don't think it's still in stores but I'm sure you can find it on ebay or amazon :-) I got it last year from a shop called ULTA Beauty when I went on holiday in the U.S last year (kind of like boots in the UK) and it was $8.95 therefore cheaper than it would be in the UK but still an average O.P.I price. So that's all for today, just a pretty lilac colour that's great for summer which I'm sure I'll be wearing a lot this summer, a long with a lot of my other summer favourites which I'm sure I'll blog about in the near future most likely :-) Anyway bye for now lovely people xxx

Playing Dress Up

It's almost 3am and I can't sleep so I thought I'd occupy myself by writing a post, I was going to save this for tomorrow but why wait? Any hoo, I came across this photo the other day when I was looking for old photos to scan to put on the digital photo frame I got my mum for Christmas and found it hilarious, I look like such a DIVA! haha, it brought back so many memories of the times when I used to stay over at my grandparents and go rummaging through my nan's wardrobes to try on all the fancy dresses. As you can tell from this pic I clearly had good fashion sense when I was younger ;-P (the whopping great blue plaster on my wrist really compliments my pink dress don't you think?) The funny thing is that I can actually remember this photo being taken and I remember thinking I looked so sophisticated and grown up (oh how naive) I really do love looking through old family photos, such a nostalgic feeling! Anyway, short but sweet post for now, lets hope I'll be able to sleep soon. Night lovely people :-) xxx

You're probably not aware but I am OBSESSED with nail varnish, I have a whole drawer full of them in my room and when I last counted I had over 200 bottles :-O (even though I tend to stick to my few favourites). My favourite nail varnish brands are Nails Inc, O.P.I, Essie and Leighton Denny but I do now and again just grab a nail varnish or 2 from high street brands.

 For Christmas I got the 'Marilyn' nail polish which is part of the Grand Bal Holiday Collection 2012 by Christian Dior and I just absolutely LOVE it! I'm very much a red nails girl any way, I feel red nails always look good, so this nail varnish was perfect! I've worn it so many times since Christmas and it lasts so well too! (usually a week with no chips). The really great thing about it is that it dries so quickly! The other day before going on a night out I painted my nails and didn't realise what the time was so had to go in the shower sooner than I thought, I had only painted my nails 10 minutes before getting in the shower and I thought 'oh great painting my nails was a waste of time' but I was happily surprised when there were no smudges or chips at all! So yeah that was great! Dries quick and looks fabulous, what more can you ask for? As it was a gift and I know my mum would have got it from duty free from work I'm not 100% sure on the price, but online I saw it being sold for £20.00 on Boots website (UK pharmacy retail store) so it's not the cheapest nail varnish but it sure is good quality and I've definitely got my moneys worth as I use it so much!

Also I was recently given the Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Top and Base Coat Duo, I already had the Top Coat which is my favourite top coat at the moment so I was so happy when I got given the duo. I think Nails Inc top coat is amazing, it dries so well with out sheet marks (those little buggers) or smudges. This is probably the case for all girls out there; painting nails becomes such an effort when you have to wait ages for them to dry, so having this top coat has been ideal! With this top coat my nails are usually touch dry with in a few minutes which is great! It is also not a gloopy top coat which I love because there's nothing worse the sticky nails that take forever to dry! Therefore the Nails Inc duo is something I would highly recommend :-)

All in all today's post was just to show you lovely people my favourite nail varnish at the moment, it's likely I'll do more posts in the future about nail varnish, it's just too hard to resist :-P Anyway that's all for today. Enjoy :-)

Just a small post to say a big Happy Birthday to my Granddad Bill who turned 79 today :-O Here's a cheeky snap below of us in Bournemouth when I was about 5 (I think), as you can see in this pic my granddad loves to torment me (think it's his favourite past time) especially with me being his only granddaughter ;-) however I can't tell if I'm laughing or crying?! haha. Any way I wish him the best birthday and look forward to seeing the family today for a little birthday buffet :-D
