Playing Dress Up

It's almost 3am and I can't sleep so I thought I'd occupy myself by writing a post, I was going to save this for tomorrow but why wait? Any hoo, I came across this photo the other day when I was looking for old photos to scan to put on the digital photo frame I got my mum for Christmas and found it hilarious, I look like such a DIVA! haha, it brought back so many memories of the times when I used to stay over at my grandparents and go rummaging through my nan's wardrobes to try on all the fancy dresses. As you can tell from this pic I clearly had good fashion sense when I was younger ;-P (the whopping great blue plaster on my wrist really compliments my pink dress don't you think?) The funny thing is that I can actually remember this photo being taken and I remember thinking I looked so sophisticated and grown up (oh how naive) I really do love looking through old family photos, such a nostalgic feeling! Anyway, short but sweet post for now, lets hope I'll be able to sleep soon. Night lovely people :-) xxx

Marilyn

You're probably not aware but I am OBSESSED with nail varnish, I have a whole drawer full of them in my room and when I last counted I had over 200 bottles :-O (even though I tend to stick to my few favourites). My favourite nail varnish brands are Nails Inc, O.P.I, Essie and Leighton Denny but I do now and again just grab a nail varnish or 2 from high street brands.

For Christmas I got the 'Marilyn' nail polish which is part of the Grand Bal Holiday Collection 2012 by Christian Dior and I just absolutely LOVE it! I'm very much a red nails girl any way, I feel red nails always look good, so this nail varnish was perfect! I've worn it so many times since Christmas and it lasts so well too! (usually a week with no chips). The really great thing about it is that it dries so quickly! The other day before going on a night out I painted my nails and didn't realise what the time was so had to go in the shower sooner than I thought, I had only painted my nails 10 minutes before getting in the shower and I thought 'oh great painting my nails was a waste of time' but I was happily surprised when there were no smudges or chips at all! So yeah that was great! Dries quick and looks fabulous, what more can you ask for? As it was a gift and I know my mum would have got it from duty free from work I'm not 100% sure on the price, but online I saw it being sold for £20.00 on Boots website (UK pharmacy retail store) so it's not the cheapest nail varnish but it sure is good quality and I've definitely got my moneys worth as I use it so much!

Also I was recently given the Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Top and Base Coat Duo, I already had the Top Coat which is my favourite top coat at the moment so I was so happy when I got given the duo. I think Nails Inc top coat is amazing, it dries so well with out sheet marks (those little buggers) or smudges. This is probably the case for all girls out there; painting nails becomes such an effort when you have to wait ages for them to dry, so having this top coat has been ideal! With this top coat my nails are usually touch dry with in a few minutes which is great! It is also not a gloopy top coat which I love because there's nothing worse the sticky nails that take forever to dry! Therefore the Nails Inc duo is something I would highly recommend :-)
All in all today's post was just to show you lovely people my favourite nail varnish at the moment, it's likely I'll do more posts in the future about nail varnish, it's just too hard to resist :-P Anyway that's all for today. Enjoy :-)

79!

Just a small post to say a big Happy Birthday to my Granddad Bill who turned 79 today :-O Here's a cheeky snap below of us in Bournemouth when I was about 5 (I think), as you can see in this pic my granddad loves to torment me (think it's his favourite past time) especially with me being his only granddaughter ;-) however I can't tell if I'm laughing or crying?! haha. Any way I wish him the best birthday and look forward to seeing the family today for a little birthday buffet :-D

Speak to you all soon lovely people xxx

Im pretty new to all this!

Okay well here goes...
I've been pondering on the idea of making a blog for several months now and thought it might be a good way to express my 'thoughts' as such, as well as give the world wide web an insight into my (perhaps boring) life. I'm also hoping it would be a good confidence booster! I'm not really sure what I'm doing at the moment so bare with me, I will hopefully pick it up as I go along :-)

Okay so let me tell you a little bit about me; I'm currently in my second year of university at St.Mary's (just outside London) and I really am loving it there! As I'm not there everyday and I don't live too far I decided to live at home whilst I was at uni, everyone has been so lovely and friendly that I haven't felt left out at all due to living at home, it just means I've been able to experience uni life as well as having my home comforts :-) I've met some amazing people over the last year and had some really great times together (dressing up in all sorts of crazy fancy dress for uni nights out etc), it's been a pleasure to know them :-D Also the great thing about still living at home is that I still get to see my best friends from primary (infant) school and high school (or secondary school, high school reminds me of those American tv shows like 90210 ;-P) which is great because there's just so many amazing memories that I have with them which will be with me forever.

Any way before i get too soppy about friends I'll tell you about some other aspects of my life. In 2011 a little baby named Ayden was born and I became a very proud older sister to a gorgeous cheeky monkey who is just the cutest! (not being bias at all ;-P) I also already have an older brother who I'm incredible close with (that's when we're not fighting, but hey ho it wouldn't be normal for brothers and sisters not to be at each others throats now and again). Erm I'm not going to go through every single family member but just like to say that I really do love them all so very much (as most people would with their family) and I love how close I am to them all

Moving on from the family topic..in terms of what my interests are I'm very much a typical 'girly girl' not in the sense that I love everything pink, in fact my favourite colour is turquoise, it's just I am into my make up, I'm obsessed with nail varnish (I think I own about 150 bottles?) and my room is very much Cath-Kidstony (not a propper word I know, but you probably get my drift :-P). My taste in music is quite open, I don't like a song just because it's a particular genre I just like it! :-) Although I can't see myself liking grime music or heavy metal any time soon, it's just not my cup of tea. Yes of course being a typical girl I love my 'rom-coms' but surprisingly I love horror films too :-O, not the gory slice your guts open type but the ghostly, psychological thrillers I love (call me crazy but I love 'em ;-) ). Lastly, TV shows!...Just to name a few that I love; Grey's Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory, How I met your Mother, Glee, 90210, New Girl...Then there's the shows that I still love but have ended :-(  (but still often watch the box sets :-P) for instance One Tree Hill, Desperate Housewives and The O.C. Then of course there's the reality shows like Made In Chelsea and Keeping Up With The Kardashians that I'm OBSESSED with! I also love Celebrity Juice (UK panel show) and there's probably a whole load of other shows that I've missed out but can't remember right now (oh dear I watch way too much TV!), I don't really follow any of the soaps but I could probably tell you what's going on in them as they're always on in my house as my mum loves soaps so I get the pleasure of watching them too (unfortunately). Woah didn't realise I was able to right that much about me, looks like I got a bit carried away :-P. Any way I don't think there's much else to say at the moment so I think I'll end it here. Not really sure where I'm going with my blogs but I hope I can entertain you all with my life (maybe). Hope this wasn't too long winded for you, thought it would be an appropriate theme for my first blog :-) Thank you to the lovely people who have spent the time to read through this, it's really appreciated :-) x
